Tying Instructions

by Ruhan Neethling

1) Lay a thread bed from the bead to just above the hook barb. Tie in the tail with black marabou.  If the marabou strands are to long, just pinch off, do not cut.

2) Tie in the fish hair tag and a length of  black wool at the point above the barb.

3) Wrap the tread forward to behind the bead. Form a tapered body with the wool by wrapping it forward, back and forward again. Tie off behind the hook eye, wip finish and cement.

4) The finished fly.

Fish this fly with a long leader on a floating line. It should be as close to the bottom as possible. Short 50mm strips interspersed with a 5 to 10 second pause between strips produce the best results.
